Dry Needling:

Dry needling is a scientifically based treatment for myofascial trigger points based on western medicine research and principles. Dry needling is a relatively recent treatment method and is mainly used to treat pain and dysfunction caused by muscle problems. A very thin needle is used which is inserted into the myofascial trigger point. The myofascial trigger point was defined by Dr. Travell and Simons as a ‘hyperirritable spot in skeletal muscle’. The trigger point is a painful spot found on a taut band in the muscle which produces local pain on compression but can also refer pain, inhibit muscle activation and restrict range of motion. Releasing these points can help restore normal pain free movement.

Biomechanics:

Biomechanics is the study of internal and external forces acting on the human body and the effects produced by these forces. Biomechanical malalignments can lead to low back pain, hip pain, knee pain and foot pain.

Our physiotherapists assess your biomechanics as part of your general assessment in order to get to the route of your pain.

Orthotics and Prescription Insoles:

A full biomechanical assessment for lower limb and low back complaints to provide you with the most appropriate and cost effective custom made orthotic or prescription insole.
